TE MONITOREN:
Er is in de Convention geen bepaling opgenomen over monitoring. Wel moet er gerapporteerd worden over het beheer van de werelderfgoederen.

TE RAPPORTEREN:
Informatie over de implementatie van de Werelderfgoed Conventie (Sectie I) en informatie over het beheer van de specifieke werelderfgoederen zelf (Sectie II).

Op basis van de vragenlijsten:

Section I: Information on the application of the World Heritage Convention:
1. Information on state-party;
2. Information on identification of cultural and natural heritage properties;
3. Information on preparation of the Tentative List;
4. Information on nomination of cultural and natural heritage properties;
5. Information on protection, conservation and presentation of the cultural and natural heritage;
6. Information on status of services;
7. Information on scientific, technical studies and research;
8. Information on financial resources;
9. Information on training;
10. Information on international co-operation;
11. Information on information, awareness building and education; 12. Conclusions and recommended action.

Section II
1. Informatin on state-party;
2. Information on justification for inscription (statement of significance);
3. Information on boundary and buffer zone;
4. Information on authenticity and integrity of the site;
5. Information on management;
6. Information on protection;
7. Information on management plans;
8. Information on financial resources;
9. Information on staffing levels (human resources);
10. Information on sources of expertise and training in conservation and management techniques;
11. Informaion on visitors;
12. Information on scientific studies;
13. Information on education, information and awareness building;
14. Information on factors affecting the property (state of conservation);
15. Information on monitoring;
16. Conclusions;
17. Information on potential decisions for the World Heritage Committee;

Overige informatie
Er is discussie over of de Waddenzee moet worden voorgedragen als Werelderfgoed.

De periodieke rapportage over de implementatie van de Werelderfgoed Conventie kent vier doelen:
1) het leveren van inzicht in de implementatie van de Werelderfgoed Conventie door de lid-staat;
2) het leveren van inzicht in hoeverre de Werelderfgoed-waarden van de werelderfgoederen op de Werelderfgoedlijst worden gehandhaafd gedurende de tijd;
3) het leveren van actuele informatie over de Werelderfgoederen om de veranderende omstandigheden en de staat van bescherming van werelderfgoederen vast te stellen;
4) het leveren van een vorm van regionale samenwerking en uitwisseling van informatie en ervaringen tussen Lidstaten inzake de implementatie van de Conventie en de bescherming van Werelderfgoed.

n.b.: deze informatie heeft vooral betrekking op de thema's "cultuurhistorische waarden", "landschap" en "aardkundige waarden".
